Our speaker for the day was Kevin Dulio of Native Fields Landscaping.
Kevin gave a brief bio for the newer members and then gave the rest of his time to talking about the preparations his company makes ahead of snow storms. At this point the predicted snow totals for the upcoming storm were still a bit vague (1″ -12″). It takes the company 3 days to get ready; washing, cleaning and greasing the equipment to ensure they’re in good working order. Native Fields relies on an automated system that requires each worker to be equipped with a tablet or smartphone running an app that delivers real-time updates to the back office and out to clients.
Kevin also discussed the various deicing materials that are available to consumers. They actually their own blended product of melting chemicals and grit.
Kevin’s talk ended with questions from the audience.
